Jan von Holleben was born in 1977 and raised in the southern German countryside. His father was a photographer and at 13 years old he started to follow that career path. He would mess around with the camera and use his imagination and skills. He studied teaching children with disabilities in Freiburg but soon after he moved to London to explore more in the photo world. He earned a degree in history of photographic scene. And later found a job as a art director and photographic director. He found London was a beautiful place to take unique photos. As of today many of his pieces have been published world wide and he has many different awards for many different things. Some of his favourite pieces contain pirates, fairies, dragons and many other unrealistic creatures. Jan Von Holleben was a brilliant photographer.
I really like this picture because theres so much going on that it looks realistic. I think what he did is lay a blue sheet down and place some rocks on top. Then he added a few potted plants and dressed the person in the photo in shorts and flippers. Im not sure what the fish are made up as but i think its very creative. Im not sure what I would change about this photo as I think its very unique so I probably wouldn't change a thing. I think this will help me make my photos stronger because it has given me an idea of doing something underwater.
I like this photo because I find it a bit amusing. I love how it is space and one of the guys is turned the other way just like it would be in space. I think in order to create this photo you would need a black sheet with white clothing and helmets. You would need some balls for the planets, in this case they look like exercise balls. It would be simple yet theres a lot going on. I like this photo however I'm not sure if this helps me as much as the other one as I can not use the same idea. However maybe I could move people in all sorts of directions besides straight.
I love how this one does not need as many props as the first two yet it is still a cool idea. I love how this picture he's riding the whale but he's just barely holding on and could fall off at any second. He must've taken this picture on the beach because of the sand but I think in order to make this more realistic I would've put water somewhere on the sand or at least a blue sheet. However I do admire how they made the sand look like waves at the bottom. This picture helps to remind me that it doesn't have to be complicated to be interesting and Ill try to keep that in mind we'll designing my photos.
